Former Nottingham Forest striker Stan Collymore tries to cause Joe Lolley mischief amid £10m Aston Villa link

Former Reds striker Stan Collymore has been having a bit of fun with Nottingham Forest fans.

The 48-year-old Aston Villa supporter must have been rubbing his hands with glee when he saw that City Ground prized possession Joe Lolley had been linked with a switch to Villa Park.

Dean Smith's side are said to be preparing a £10m bid for the Reds midfielder, and Collymore was swift to give the speculation his seal of approval.

He tweeted: "Hey @JLolley23, how you doing pal?", with a cheeky wink, and there were plenty of Forest fans first to the scene.

"He looks better in Garibaldi, Stan. Just like you did!", tweeted one Reds fan.

"That's an illegal approach!", joked another.

But there were enough Forest fans angered by his Twitter quip to force the former City Ground man into posting a quick apology.

Collymore scored 46 goals for Forest in 78 appearances and was recently voted third in our 'Who is Nottingham Forest's best ever player?' poll.
