Former Nottingham Forest star linked with Championship transfer

Former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Lee Camp has been linked with a move to Championship rivals Coventry City.

Camp, who left Birmingham City in the summer upon the expiry of his contract, is reportedly interesting Coventry according to The Sun.

The Sky Blues are looking to sign cover for first-choice stopper Marko Marosi after he fractured a cheekbone against Cardiff City in midweek.

Camp had been training with Sheffield Wednesday following his Blues exit, linking up with former St Andrew's boss Garry Monk to keep his fitness levels up in anticipation of a return to the game.

Marosi could be sidelined for as long as six weeks, dealing Coventry a big blow in their battle against an immediate relegation back to League One.

Mark Robins' men are level on points (12) with Forest after 13 matches, sitting in 21st place in the Championship table.

Camp, who started his career at Forest's arch-rivals Derby County, endeared himself to fans with fine performances against his old side.

Initially signed on loan from Queens Park Rangers in 2008, Camp soon became the Reds' number one and a penalty save against Nacer Barazite in a 2008 East Midlands Derby lives long in the memory.

Now he could be heading for a return to the second tier and to, as it stands, a club battling Forest at the wrong end of the table.

During his time with Blues, Camp established himself as a cult hero thanks to a string of penalty saves including one against Forest in February.

Camp, 36, made 193 appearances in all competitions for Forest.
