Former Nottingham Forest defender Christian Edwards is in hospital after suffering a suspected heart attack.
The 43-year-old, who spent five years with Forest at the turn of century, is now in charge of Welsh Premier League outfit Cardiff Met FC.
Our sister title WalesOnline have reported that Edwards suffered the suspected heart attack during a training session on Thursday night.
According to the report, Edwards is said to doing “okay” and remains under observation.
A statement from the Welsh Premier League side said: "Cardiff Met FC are sending our best wishes to our manager Christian who last night suffered a suspected heart attack at training.
"We can confirm he is okay and under observation. We would like to thank you for your kind words and messages."
Edwards played over 50 times for the Reds between 1998 and 2003 and this season, he guided his side to the Europa League preliminary round, becoming the first University men’s team to ever play in European competition.
