Former Nottingham Forest midfielder Oliver Burke joins Spanish side on season-long loan

Former Nottingham Forest winger Oliver Burke is set to join Spanish outfit Alaves on a season-long loan deal, Slaven Bilic has revealed.

The 22-year-old has been out-of-favour this season at the Hawthorns and has struggled to make an impact since completing his £15m move from Red Bull Leipzig.

Last season he enjoyed a brief loan spell in Scotland with Celtic but failed to impress north of the border, scoring just four goals.

Now he will head to Spain to join Alaves who currently sit seventh in La Liga in a loan deal that will allow the Baggies to recall him in January, should they require his services.

And Bilic reminded reporters as he faced the media that he still has a future with West Brom.

"It’s probably going to be done today," said Bilic. "He’s going on loan there, he needs minutes.

"He improved a lot in his concentration. That reflects on finishing and everything. We have good numbers there.

"We haven’t given up on him."

Burke made his Nottingham Forest debut back in 2014 and after impressing at Championship level he made a £13m switch to join Bundesliga side Leipzig.

But there he struggled for regular game time and returned to England with the Baggies in 2017.
