Former Nottingham Forest man Paul Anderson has told Notts County that he would be open to making a summer switch to Meadow Lane- but it may take promotion to swing the deal.
The 31-year-old is now a free agent after winning promotion from League Two in style with Northampton Town last week.
The Cobblers were 4-0 winners over Exeter City at an empty Wembley Stadium to book their place in League One.
Meanwhile, the Magpies face a play-off battle of their own this month as they look to return to the Football League at the first time of asking.
But despite Anderson making 25 appearances under Keith Curle this season he has been released by the club with the financial implications of the coronavirus crisis cited as a potential reason.
Now back home in Nottingham, the wide man is in search of a new club.

"I'd be open to having a conversation [with Notts County]," the former Mansfield Town man told BBC Radio Nottingham.
"It is local for me, which is a big positive. I have got two little kids and my little boy is starting school in September. We are at that stage where we don't want to be disrupting their education.
"I think that will be a conversation if they get promotion in the play-offs, then they would be far more appealing to me."
"Never say never," he continued. "Any manager who shows an interest in me, at any level or league, I will always show them respect and appreciate that. I'd always give them the time of day to have a conversation and see where it goes."
