Molla Wague says joining French club FC Nantes fills him with great pride, after he penned a three-year contract at the Stade de la Beaujoire.
Italian Serie A outfit Udinese and the French Ligue 1 outfit agreed a deal for the 28-year-old, who had one year left on his contract in Udine.
The Malian international spent the second half of last season on loan at Nottingham Forest having been signed by Martin O’Neill on January deadline day.
"It's a great pride for me to be able to come back to France, which is in a historic club like FC Nantes, and I am very motivated and impatient to find my partners for this new season,” Wague said.
In his spell at the City Ground, Wague made 11 appearances, scoring twice including one on his debut to secure a 2-1 win over Brentford.
His other came away at Ipswich Town, cancelling out the Tractor Boys’ early opener to help the Reds rescue a point at Portman Road.
Earlier this summer, the much travelled central defender had been linked with a move to Greek side Panathinaikos.
Wague is no stranger to French football, having played for Caen, along with Watford, Leicester City and Spanish outfit Granada.
