Former Nottingham Forest loanee Molla Wague set to join French top flight side in €1.5m move

Defender Molla Wague is set to join French club Nantes ahead of the new season, according to reports in France.

The 28-year-old defender spent the latter half of last season on loan with Nottingham Forest, making nine starts during his time at the City Ground under Martin O'Neill.

And now he looks set to have secured himself a permanent move to Ligue 1 Nantes, who finished 12th in France's top division last season.

The report by Ouest-France says that an agreement has been reached by all three parties, allowing the Mali international to make the €1.5m switch.

The hard-tackling central defender took his time to settle in with the Reds after joining from Udinese, despite scoring on his debut against Brentford.

But two goals in his first two starts against Ipswich and Swansea saw him become, for a brief time, a popular figure on the banks of the Trent.
