Nottingham Forest loan flop Rafa Mir may not have enjoyed his less than successful stay at the City Ground earlier in the season, but his return to Spain has seemingly helped him find his goalscoring touch.
Mir agreed a season-long loan deal from Premier League side Wolves, though both clubs and the young Spaniard opted to end it early after the striker failed to find the net in his 11 outings.
In January, the Spanish Under-21 international agreed an 18-month loan deal with Segunda Division outfit Huesca and since play resumed following the Covid-19 lockdown, the 23-year-old has found some form.
Mir has netted four in his last three outings, including a brace away to Albacete at the weekend to earn his side a 2-2 draw.
Prior to Saturday’s game, Mir netted one in the 2-1 home defeat to Mirandes and the Thursday before that, he scored in the 3-1 success at Malaga.
In total, Mir has bagged six goals in his 10 outings since making his debut in January, though he did pick up a red card in a 1-0 loss away at Girona.
Following his brace, Mir posted on social media to share his delight and acknowledge the Huesca fans who are currently unable to watch games live because of the pandemic.
“Very worked tie, we must fight to the end for all of you!
“Although you are at home we feel close to you.”
