Former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper hunting for new club after release by Championship rivals

Former Nottingham Forest number one Lee Camp is a free agent after Birmingham City confirmed his release.

Camp, who played nearly 200 games across five seasons at the City Ground, now begins his search for a new club.

The 35-year-old has spent the past two seasons at St. Andrew’s, playing 86 games and keeping 20 clean sheets.

Now, he moves on, leaving the Blues with their best wishes.

Birmingham said following Camp’s departure: “Camp established cult status among supporters for his displays and manner, and his penalty saves became a feature of his time at the St. Andrew's Trillion Trophy Stadium.

“Off the field his open and entertaining persona earned him friends too.

“We would like to thank Lee for his performances, professionalism and all he has done during his spell with us. We wish him every success in the future.”

Camp is now looking for the 10th permanent club of his career.

Since leaving the Reds in 2013, he had been on the books of Norwich, West Brom, Bournemouth, Rotherham, and Cardiff before arriving at Birmingham.
