Former Nottingham Forest defender to miss reunion as Wigan struggle with injuries

Wigan Athletic look set to be without two key men against Nottingham Forest, as well as former Reds defender Danny Fox.

Veteran defender Fox has only played six times this season after being out since early November with a groin problem.

Fellow defender Charlie Mulgrew has not played since the start of the month due a calf strain, while Wales striker Kieffer Moore is also out.

“Our squad depth isn’t where we’d like it to be,” manager Paul Cook told Wigan Today.

“Kieffer (Moore) is still struggling with a calf problem, the injuries are what they are.

“Charlie (Mulgrew) is the same, and I don’t envisage anybody coming back over the Christmas period.”

In more positive news Joe Williams could be recalled to the starting line-up for Wigan having made two substitute appearances since returning from the hamstring injury which sidelined him for a month.
