Former Nottingham Forest boss Martin O’Neill says he will look “more carefully” at who he would be working with, when it comes to choosing his next job.
The Northern Irishman has been out of work since departing the City Ground last June, when he was quickly replaced by Sabri Lamouchi.
O’Neill spent little more than five months back at the club where he enjoyed great success as a player, having been appointed in January 2019.
The Reds finished in ninth place last season and the European Cup winner secured eight victories from his 19 games in charge.
He has previously been manager of the Republic of Ireland national team, Sunderland, Aston Villa, Celtic and Leicester City, among others.
But his time at Forest came to an end before pre-season had barely begun last year.
And the 68-year-old says he will not rush into a new role, instead taking his time to consider any prospective employers.
“I would really have to look at and take a wee bit more of a careful look at who you are working with,” O’Neill told the Sky Sports Football Show.
“Be it owners or CEOS. I would look at that a wee bit more carefully than I have done, rather than taking things at face value.”
