Former Nottingham Forest boss linked with Premier League return to English football

Former Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi has been linked with a return to English football.

The Frenchman is currently in charge at Qatari club Al Duhail, having made the switch when he was axed by the Reds last October.

However, Get French Football News claim Lamouchi is on the radar of Wolverhampton Wanderers as they search for a new manager.

The Premier League side are looking to replace Nuno Espirito Santo after announcing on Friday that he would leave his role at the end of the season.

Nuno’s time at Molineux came to an end on Sunday as his team were beaten at home to Manchester United on the final day of the top-flight campaign.

Lamouchi has been linked with Wolves before, when he was still at Forest, but this time former Benfica chief Bruno Lage has been installed as the bookies’ favourite to take up the post, according to BirminghamLive.

Get French Football News report Lamouchi also has his eye on the vacant managerial position at Montpellier.

They say the 49-year-old “has also been in contact with MHSC president Laurent Nicollin” about the job, adding “he is a distant third choice at the moment behind Olivier Dall’Oglio (Brest) and Laurent Batlles (Troyes)”.

Lamouchi took charge of the Reds in June 2019. They came agonisingly close to achieving a top six finish under his stewardship, only to miss out on the final day of the 2019/20 campaign.

A dismal start to the season just gone saw him depart after five straight defeats in all competitions, being replaced by Chris Hughton.
