Former Nottingham Forest boss Chris Hughton has already been tipped for a new job, following his departure from the banks of the Trent.
Hughton was relieved of his duties as Forest boss last Thursday (September 16), following a run which was the Reds' worst start to a season for over 100 years.
This season under Hughton the Reds failed to record a single victory in all competitions, with just one point coming from a 1-1 draw with Derby County.
Hughton registered 14 wins from 53 games during his time on Trentside, but Tony Cascarino has suggested he would make a good international boss with the Republic of Ireland.
Stephen Kenny remains in the Ireland hot-seat, but TalkSPORT pundit Cascarino fancies Hughton as a viable replacement.
He told the Sunday Times: “I think Chris Hughton is capable of overachieving because he’s done that at Norwich, Brighton and Newcastle.
“He lost the job at Forest last week but they’ve had 18 managers in 10 years and the turmoil at the club is there for all to see.
“I think we would get the good Chris Hughton as Ireland manager. He’s always been a deep thinker; if you met Chris you’d soon realise he thinks about football a lot.
“He is a pragmatist and we have got to get back to being a team that is very hard to beat, as we still find scoring goals a big problem.”
