Former Nottingham Forest boss Aitor Karanka says he feels “pretty good” about life as he contemplates his next move.
The Spaniard has been out of work since he left the City Ground in January, after little more than a year at the helm.
Karanka says he learned a great deal from his time on the banks of the River Trent - as he did with his spell in charge of the Reds’ Championship rivals Middlesbrough, who he guided to the Premier League.
But after being in the hot seat at two English clubs, he says he is now open to different possibilities, as he looks for a potential return to management.

Asked ‘at what point in your life are you?’, Karanka, who has also previously been assistant manager at Real Madrid, said in a translated interview published by Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo: “I feel pretty good.
“After the two experiences I had in England, the two very good with the promotion with Middelsbrough to the Premier League and the last one at Nottingham Forest, each experience helps you learn a lot.
“When I left Madrid it was clear that I wanted to leave Spain, now the family situation has changed and I am more open to other possible destinations.”
