Former Nottingham Forest striker Robert Earnshaw has recalled being a part of a special Reds team which reached the play-offs a decade ago.
The 38-year-old spent three years at the City Ground from 2008 to 2011, scoring more than 40 goals in the Garibaldi.
Seventeen of those came in the 2009/10 campaign.
Just as they did a year later, Forest came agonisingly close to reaching the top-flight that term, losing to Blackpool in the play-off semi-finals.
But Earnshaw still reflects fondly on a team which got better and better every week.
“That season was about building confidence and momentum as it went on,” he told the official club website.
“Not only were we putting results and points on the board but I could feel that the squad was believing in itself more as the season went on.
“At the beginning, I don’t think the boys thought they could reach those levels of consistency and quality and produce against the big teams in the division.
“We got on a fantastic unbeaten run in the league and as players we really started to believe that we could achieve something special and that we could compete with the top teams in the league.
“It was amazing to be a part of because I could see good players becoming great players as I stood next to them week after week.”
