Former Northern Ireland U21 defender joins Derry City

Cameron Dummigan has become the fourth player to join Derry City from Dundalk since the end of last season.

Dummigan, who spent a brief loan spell with Crusaders in the Danske Bank Premiership in 2020, has moved to the Candystripes on a two year deal after leaving Oriel Park.

The former Northern Ireland under-21 international was also previously with Cliftonville, Burnley and Oldham, before joining Dundalk in 2019.

“I’m delighted to welcome a player of Cameron’s quality and versatility to the club," said Derry boss Ruaidhri Higgins of the versatile defender.

"It is very rare that a player is equally effective in a number of positions, but that’s certainly what he brings us.

“He has a wealth of experience behind him and is still only 25 years old so I would like to think he’s joining the club with his best years ahead of him.”

Higgins has already brought Patrick McEleney, Michael Duffy and Will Patching to the club from Dundalk.
