Former Nomad faces court over alleged cover-up

Ian Pullen.

The former president of the Newcastle chapter of the Nomads outlaw motorcycle gang will face court again later this month over charges related to an alleged cover-up following the death of New Zealand helicopter pilot Ian Pullen.

Bradley Robert Bowtell faced Muswellbrook Local Court on Monday after he pleaded not guilty last month to one count each of concealing a serious indictable offence of another person, concealing a serious indictable offence and hindering an investigation into a serious indictable offence. He will face court again on June 21.

Mr Pullen was found dead by the roadside near Singleton in September, 2018, while he was in the region to help with preparations ahead of the bushfire season.

Two people have been charged with murder over his death and two others face counts of being an accessory after the fact.

Police allege Mr Pullen was hit by a vehicle and seriously injured. The vehicle allegedly left the scene before returning when someone allegedly hit him in the head.
