Former NFL player Richard Sherman, 35, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in King County, Washington. The arrest took place on Saturday morning after Sherman was stopped by the Washington State Patrol in Bellevue for speeding at 79 mph in a 60 mph zone.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Sherman admitted to consuming two margaritas when questioned about his alcohol intake. He voluntarily underwent a test and displayed signs of intoxication, including bloodshot and watery eyes, as well as an odor of intoxicants.

Sherman is scheduled for a court hearing on Monday, as confirmed by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The bail amount for Sherman has not been determined yet, pending court decisions on his release conditions.

In a previous incident in 2022, Sherman pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges related to driving under the influence and a domestic disturbance from the previous year. He also acknowledged a criminal infraction for speeding in a construction zone.

During his 11-year NFL career, Sherman played for the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Recently, he worked as an analyst on Amazon’s Thursday Night Football broadcast for the past two seasons.
