Former Newcastle hero David Ginola reveals desire to manage the Magpies in the future

Former Newcastle great David Ginola has admitted it would be the 'perfect scenario' to manage the Magpies in the future.

Ginola spent two seasons at Newcastle between 1995 and 1997 as the Magpies twice finished second in the Premier League under Kevin Keegan.

The former French international bamboozled Premier League defences back then and he remains a cult hero on Tyneside.

During Ginola's time at Newcastle, United came so close to winning the Premier League title. It is in stark contrast to now with Newcastle currently in the relegation zone after starting the 2019/20 campaign with two successive defeats.

Steve Bruce replaced popular manager Rafa Benitez in the summer and is already facing questions after his side's poor start to the campaign.

And Ginola, who is currently doing his coaching badges, has revealed he would love to return to St James' Park as the club's manager in the future.

“I am currently going for my coaching badges,” said the Frenchman, during an appearance on Back of the Net. “I would love [to manage Newcastle].

“That would be the challenge of my life… it would be the perfect situation. The perfect scenario."
