Former Never Mind The Buzzcocks host banned from driving after speeding offences

  • Mark Lamarr, former host of Never Mind The Buzzcocks, has been banned from driving for six months.
  • The comedian pleaded guilty to driving at 46mph in a 40mph zone in Twickenham in June last year.
  • He received three points, a £76 fine, and was ordered to pay a £30 surcharge and £130 in prosecution costs.
  • Lamarr argued for 'exceptional hardship', citing his need to transport his daughter, visit his mother with arthritis, and his Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which makes using public transport difficult.
  • The court ruled that his circumstances did not amount to exceptional hardship, noting he already had nine points on his licence from previous speeding offences.
