Former Munster rugby star Barry Murphy has released a song in tribute to Irish rugby legend, Anthony Foley.
Murphy retired from rugby in 2011 and pursued a career in music and is now a singer in the band Hermitage Green.
The song ‘Alone You Stand’ is being released on the fifth anniversary of Foley’s death and will be played at the Aviva Stadium at halftime during Ireland's Autumn International clash with New Zealand.
All proceeds from the song will be donated to the Orla’s Wild Ways charity, a new project developed by Orla Foley in memory of her late brother.
Orla has already raised €9,000 for Mid-Western Cancer Foundation, children’s charity CARI, and CRY, which provides screening and free bereavement counselling for families at risk of Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS) after cycling 3,000km along the Wild Atlantic Way.
Foley died in 2016 aged 42 after suffering an acute pulmonary oedema, a heart condition that causes fluid to build up in the lungs, while on duty as Munster Head Coach in France.
The ex Ireland star played for his country 62 times and made over 200 appearances for Munster.
After Murphy tweeted how he was "proud" to release the song in memory of his friend, hundreds of people sent their well wishes and made their donations.
One user said: "Donated and downloaded, this is a lovely tribute. Well done Baz."
Another posted: "Best of luck with it Barry & will donate to this gr8 cause. Gr8 to see yee guys tearing it up on tour! We’re booked in for 2nd show."
