Former Mumbai Police commissioner Sanjay Pandey moves Delhi HC for bail

MUMBAI: Former Mumbai Police commissioner Sanjay Pandey, arrested by Enforcement Directorate (ED), approached Delhi high court seeking bail in a money laundering case related to alleged illegal phone-tapping and snooping of National Stock Exchange (NSE) employees.

He also filed a petition seeking quashing of an FIR by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for the alleged cheating, criminal breach of trust by a public servant, and cheating under Indian Penal Code, under various provisions of Information Technology Act, Indian Telegraph Act and Prevention of Corruption Act. Both petitions have been listed for hearing before Justice Jasmeet Singh on August 16.

Pandey has challenged a trial court order by which his bail plea was dismissed in the money laundering case. He was arrested by Enforcement Directorate on July 19.
