Former MTV News legend Kurt Loder turned 75 today and it freaked everybody out

I’m not ashamed to admit that I grew up in a time when MTV played actual music videos for most of the day and had VJ’s whose job was to introduce the music videos.

They also had some on-air stars who gave us music news a few times an hour in quick segments called “MTV News.”

Those were some magical times in televisions in which MTV personalities became people you knew very well because you’d see them every day while watching some sweet hair bands doing some wild things in their videos.

The most famous of the MTV News anchors was a serious gentleman named Kurt Loder. He was all over MTV for years and was our news man who told us fun stuff and some very serious, life-changing stuff like the deaths of Kurt Cobain and The Notorious B.I.G.

Well, he was trending on Twitter on Tuesday and I of course thought the worst had happened to Mr. Loder. Turns out it was worse than that – on Tuesday he turned 75 YEARS OLD.

I mean, how is that possible?
