Former MSU softball standout named to Duke softball coaching staff

Duke University and their head softball coach Marissa Young announced this week that Jessica Bracamonte, a former standout Michigan State softball player, will join their staff as an assistant coach. This comes after Bracamonte spent six years coaching at Central Michigan University as an assistant.

Here is what Coach Young had to say about Bracamonte:

“Jessica is a passionate, seasoned assistant coach with a proven track record of success,” said Young. “Jessica’s passion for improving team culture and building great competitors aligns perfectly with our core values here at Duke. Her strong work ethic, energy and hunger to continue learning and growing make her a great asset to our program.

I’m thrilled to welcome Jessica to Durham where she will coach our outfield, slappers and assist with overall offensive strategies.”

Bracamonte was a four-year starter for the Spartans from 2008-11. In her senior year, she hit .328 and had 28 RBI’s while leading the Big Ten in triples with four. She played professional softball with the Chicago Bandits of National Pro Fastpitch.
