Former MSU big man Nick Ward signing with Israel’s Hapoel Galil Gilboa

According to Or Shkedy of Walla! Sport, Nick Ward will be signing with Israeli basketball team Hapoel Galil Gilboa of the Israeli Basketball Premier League or the Winner League.

This comes after a summer filled with tryouts, exhibitions, and invitationals where Nick Ward was trying to improve his game and land with a team in the States, but ultimately will be heading to Israel to get what will likely be a better paycheck than he’d find in the G-League.

Ward started the summer playing NBA Summer League ball for the Atlanta Hawks where he had a double-double in one impressive outing (the rest of his games were not that noteworthy).

From there, he participated in the G-League Invitational player showcase, where he was named one of the most interesting players at the event.

It will be interesting to see how Ward’s career develops. Like Costello, I expect to see him frequently at events like Summer League and wouldn’t be surprised if he tries out the G-League next year after honing his game overseas.
