Former MSU Basketball star Aerial Powers, Mystics make WNBA Finals

For the second year in a row, the Washington Mystics will head to the WNBA Finals where they will match-up with the Connecticut Sun in a five-game series to determine the best team in the league. One big difference this year though? The Mystics will have Aerial Powers, Michigan State Women’s Basketball’s All-Time leading scorer in tow on the roster.

Powers had a breakout season with the Mystics this year, getting significant playing time after the injury of Kristi Tolliver. She averaged 11.4 points-per-game on 36% three-point shooting on the year. With Tolliver back in the lineup (and with Powers’ own injury issues this season), she played a slightly less significant role in the playoffs but still tallied 8.7 points-per-game.

The first game of the WNBA Finals between the Sun and the Mystics will take place this Sunday at 3:00pm ET.
