Former MSU basketball player Delvon Roe tweets in support of Andrew Luck

Yesterday, former Stanford Cardinal and Indianapolis Colts superstar quarterback Andrew Luck shocked the sports world by announcing his retirement from the NFL due to his ongoing injury issues. It is worth mentioning that while most in the sports media landscape have been extremely understanding of Luck’s decision, there have been some in the sports world (I’m looking at you Dan Dakich) who have chided the QB for his decision. Last night, former MSU basketball player Delvon Roe tweeted in support of Luck’s retirement decision.

Of course, Roe himself famously retired from basketball in 2011 due to degenerative knee pain. Roe might not have been a Pro Bowl QB but as a former 5-star recruit and Big-Ten All-Freshman, Roe’s retirement shocked Spartan nation.

As someone who also had to quit playing the game they loved, it was nice to see a Spartan support Luck in what was a huge announcement in the sports world.
