Former MP Brian Donohoe hails 'special day' as he collects knighthood

Former Cunninghame South and Central Ayrshire MP Brian Donohoe hailed 'a special day'  as he collected his knighthood at Buckingham Palace last week.

Sir Brian was joined by wife Christine at an investiture ceremony in which he was conferred with the title Knights Bachelor.

Brian, from Irvine, was awarded a knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in recognition of his parliamentary and political work over 23 years.

He served as an MP between 1992 and 2015, latterly in the expanded Central Ayrshire Constituency.

Said Brian: “It was a special day for all my family. I'm really pleased and proud to have been honoured in this way.”
