It might be a long way from Tipperary, but only a wedding dress from New York will do for bride-to-be Aoife Walsh.
The former Miss Ireland has booked Vera Wang and Kleinfeld in the Big Apple as she seeks out the perfect gown to wear for her July 2020 “I dos”.
She said: “The dress is probably going to be the hardest thing to get, so I decided to start early.
“I’ve made an appointment at Kleinfeld, which is the place they do the [reality TV show] Say Yes To The Dress, so I have high hopes for there.
“I also booked an appointment at Vera Wang for the experience, you only get to do this once,” she told the Sunday Independent’s Life magazine.

The lifestyle blogger won’t reveal the location of the wedding just yet, but hinted it’s halfway between both their home counties.
The Clonmel native got engaged to a solicitor at Christmas when he whisked her away on a surprise trip to Paris.
The pair met four years ago in the summer of 2015 at a party on the rooftop of the Marker Hotel in Dublin.
After a year of long-distance, Aoife joined him Stateside signing with a US modelling agency.
“There’s far more opportunity in New York,” she said.
“But there are thousands of models. You could go to 100 castings and get nothing or 100 castings and get 20 jobs. You have to be able to take the rejection.”
