Former Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Jeremiah Sirles announces retirement

Offensive lineman Jeremiah Sirles, who played for the Vikings for three seasons, has said that he is retiring from the NFL.

Sirles announced the decision on Twitter, where he used #SKOL as one of his hashtags.

“After two major ankle surgeries last year, my wife and I have made the decision to see what the future holds for our family,” Sirles said in a letter he posted on Twitter.

Sirles came to the Vikings after being traded from the Chargers. He started a total of 20 games in his career, including 14 for Minnesota. He played for a total of five seasons. Besides the Chargers and the Vikings, Sirles played for the Buffalo Bills as well.

“Part of me will always be a kid who was able to play a game he loved for twenty years,” Sirles said in the letter. “Here is to the next steps and some exciting things lined up.”
