Former Minnesota RB Adrian Peterson named the Vikings best player of the last decade

Over the last decade, when teams were finding new ways to air the ball out, the Vikings dialed back the clock with their offense and still found success.

That was mostly thanks to Adrian Peterson. He started his career with the Vikings and he became known as not just one of the best running backs in the NFL, but one of the top players. He was the last non-quarterback to win the MVP.

Recently, Peterson earned another accolade in what has been a prolific career: He was named to ESPN’s All-Decade team for the NFC North, in addition to being named the best Vikings player of the last 10 years.

Here’s what ESPN said about naming Peterson the Vikings’ top player of the decade:

“This was about as unanimous a decision as there is. …  He was the league’s offensive player of the year (2012), a two-time first-team All-Pro selection (2012, 2015), went to the Pro Bowl four times and led the NFL in rushing in 2012 with 2,097 yards and again in 2015. Peterson ended his time in Minnesota as the franchise’s all-time rushing leader and will go down as one of the best running backs in NFL history.”

Peterson is still in the NFL, playing for the Redskins for the last two seasons.
