Former Michigan State basketball players cleared in sexual assault case

Three former Michigan State basketball players have been cleared of any wrongdoing in an alleged sexual assault, according to a Title IX investigation report issued this week.

The complainant, Bailey Kowalski, publicly accused the school of pushing her to not report the assault earlier this year. Kowalski alleged that in 2015 three basketball players drugged her and then later raped her at one of the players’ apartment.

The school’s Title IX investigators apparently disagreed, not finding enough evidence to determine that a violation of the school’s Relationship, Violence and Sexual Misconduct policy.

Kowalski has a Title IX lawsuit against the school, which is still pending. She has told media she plans on appealing this ruling and will file a report with the Lansing Township Police.
