Former Merseyside politician dies after distinguished career

Former Liverpool city councillor Malcolm Bullock has passed away at the age of 80.

Mr Bullock - the Mayor of Llandudno from 2014-2015, died on February 3 at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd Hospital in Denbighshire, Wales.

Mr Bullock used the mayoralty to suggest twinning Llandudno with Liverpool, due to strong cultural ties between the two areas.

He thought the strong support for Liverpool’s football teams in Llandudno and the large amount of people who travel between the two areas were good reasons for forging stronger links.

Mr Bullock also launched a cancer care initiative called The Best Foot Forward, during his time as Llandudno’s Mayor.

The scheme offered support to people in the Llandudno area dealing with breast cancer diagnosis.

His funeral will take place on February 24 at St David’s Church, Llandudno.

Mr Bullock’s family said he had a fulfilled and loving life and wanted the funeral to be a celebration of his time.

They made a request for those attending the funeral to wear an item of colour and wanted any donations to be made to Dementia UK.
