Former Manchester United midfielder Kleberson is another player to have named Sir Alex Ferguson as the best manager he worked under — but also revealed just why the Scot was so special.
The Brazilian's time at Old Trafford didn't work out as he endured a two-year spell dogged by injury and inconsistent form, but he said Ferguson made him feel comfortable and was a father figure for him.
Kleberson made just 30 appearances for the Reds (20 in the league) and scored two goals, leaving after a difficult two years at United.
But speaking exclusively to MEN Sport viia YourPromotionalCodes the former United star waxed lyrical about United's legendary former boss.
“I have played for some great managers in Europe and Brazil, but Sir Alex is the best," he said.
"Not only was he the manager and coach, he was also like a father. He really helped me when I first joined the club, helping my family and helping me with everything to make me feel comfortable when I first came to England.
"He has a real hunger to win trophies and is a big role model for players, showing them what they need win matches.”
Kleberson was signed in the summer of 2003, a year after helping Brazil win the 2002 World Cup in Japan and Korea, and was unveiled alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. Ultimately the two players' United careers unfolded very differently.
