Former Manchester United star backs David Moyes to keep West Ham in the Premier League

Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves believes David Moyes is the perfect man to keep West Ham United in the Premier League this season.

Moyes was reappointed West Ham boss back in December, replacing Manuel Pellegrini who was sacked following a poor run of form.

The former Everton and United manager has so far endured an indifferent start to his tenure, with his side sitting just a place above the drop zone on goal difference.

But Hargreaves believes Moyes will keep the Hammers up this season, and is also calling on him to find a formula to get his team scoring.

Premier League title odds

"Yeah 100 percent he is the right guy," the former Man City and Bayern Munich man told BT Sport.

"You just think about this West Ham squad and at the start of the season everyone thought it was the best they have had.

"The issues they have had. I think Fabianski, as JJ (Jermaine Jenas) said before, was a big one and almost unsettled the team. Before that they were pushing for a Champions League place.

"Goals have dried up attacking wise. I think David Moyes has got to find a formula to get goals out of his side.

"Defensive they'll be OK and especially with Randolph coming in for Fabianski."
