Manchester United fans have hammered two of the club's former players after they suggested the club would be wise to sign Luis Suarez this summer.
Former United duo Paddy Crerand and David May both backed the club to sign the Uruguay international if possible, despite his controversial past.
Speaking on MUTV last night host Stewart Gardner posed the question of signing the former Liverpool forward ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline.
“Would you take Luis Suarez?” Gardner asked. Lou Macari answered saying: “You might get him, because of his age,” while May added, “All day, all day.”
Gardner then alluded to Suarez’s past by questioning: “You’d take him even though he used to be playing up the road?” To which May replied: “I don’t care [about] up the road. I don’t care,” while Crerand added: “I would, yeah. Even though he played for Liverpool it doesn’t matter.”
As you’d imagine, United fans were not impressed one bit.
Must be a joke.
You lads having a laugh? @LouMacari10 @DavidMay04 shocking.

No chance.
He could be the best player of all time and still wouldn’t want him

Rather anyone else.
Literally the last player I’d ever want us to sign

On one condition.
I’d take him, shove him in the u14 team and leave him there till he retired
