Former Manchester United player Phil Neville makes Gary Neville management prediction

England Women's manager Phil Neville has backed his brother Gary to return to football management despite a disappointing spell as boss at Valencia in the 2015/16 season.

Gary began his coaching career as an assistant to England boss Roy Hodgson, which saw him on the staff for Euro 2012, the 2014 World Cup and the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

And in December 2015, he was appointed head coach at Valencia following the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santos.

However, Gary's time at Valencia was short-lived and he was sacked at the end of March 2016 with the club 14th in the La Liga standings.

Gary has previously said he has no appetite to return to management but brother Phil said that he would not rule it out, and has backed him to have another crack at it back in England.

"Well, he's stubborn," Phil told the United website when asked whether Gary would ever manage again.

"The guys that know Gary know that he makes these comments and statements and he's very stubborn.

"But ultimately what will happen with Gary is that he's obviously got a lot on his plate. He's involved in a lot of things, doing great work, but there will come a day when he will get an offer, like he did with Valencia.

"Before he got the Valencia job he was never going to go into management, and then obviously the owner of Valencia, who's a good friend of ours, said: 'I need you', and he got excited by it.

"So I would never rule it out, and I still think he should go back into management and give it a go in the English Premier League or in the Championship or in English football."
