Former Manchester United player Daley Blind diagnosed with heart condition

Former Manchester United defender Daley Blind has been diagnosed with a heart condition after missing two recent games.

Blind suffered from dizziness during Ajax's clash with Valencia on December 10th and has been diagnosed with "heart muscle inflammation", according to a statement from the Dutch club. He had a medical examination which revealed the condition.

It is hoped that Blind will be able to continue his career after being fitted with a subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillator

"I feel good at the moment," Blind said.

"I am trying to come back as soon as possible."

Blind, 29, made 90 league appearances for United over a four-year spell, after being signed by his Dutch boss Louis van Gaal.

He picked up winners medals in the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League with United and has won five Eredivisie titles over two spells at Ajax, leading them to the Champions League semi-finals last term.
