Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho makes Man City and Liverpool prediction

Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has given a prediction on where he thinks Man City and Liverpool will finish this season.

Liverpool have made a winning start to the season with four wins from four with reigning Premier League champions City picking up ten points from their first four matches.

Mourinho is out of work after being sacked by United in December 2018 and he is now doing punditry work for Sky Sports.

He previously stated that 'four teams. Man City, Tottenham, Liverpool and Man City's B team' could win the title, explaining: "When I looked at City's bench and saw the players that weren't involved in the XI, I believe even their B team can win the title."

Speaking ahead of the North London Derby between Arsenal and Spurs on Sunday, Mourinho expanded on his previous point that City's B side could win the title.

He said: “I think both (need the points). We were having a laugh at Old Trafford in the first fixture of the season. I was having the joke of Man City B, Spurs, Liverpool and Man City.

“Just three of four weeks later, we understand clearly Liverpool and Man City are going to finish first and second, or second and first. Can Tottenham or Arsenal be there? They push for it, I think today is very important for them to win.

“If they don’t do it, the distance just after four weeks is the distance that impresses a little bit.”
