Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho drops another hint about future job

Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has unsurprisingly suggested he will only join a club that has ambitions of success.

The Portuguese coach has been without a job since he was sacked by United in December 2018 following the Reds' worst-ever start to a Premier League season.

Mourinho was linked with the Real Madrid and Inter Milan jobs earlier his year but those positions have since been filled by Zinedine Zidane and Antonio Conte respectively.

Speaking to The Coaches' Voice YouTube channel, Mourinho outlined his plans for the future.

"The only thing that I know is what I don't want: I am quite pathological in the sense of I have to play to win," Mourinho said.

"Then, if I don't win, then that's my problem and the players and the club and the structure but I need a project where the feeling is I play to win.

"If somebody gives me a wonderful 10-year contract and the objective of the team is to stay in the first half of the table and if you finish seventh, eighth or ninth, it's perfect, then that's not for me. That's my nature. My next (goal) is to fight to win."

Mourinho hinted earlier this month that his next job could be in international management.

"I want to compete in new competitions," Mourinho told  Eleven Sports. "I think about the World Cup and the European Championships.

"For a long time I have had the desire to try out such an adventure. Right now, I see myself more at a national team than with a new club.

"Is Portugal the right team for me? Not necessarily."
