Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho drops hints about managerial future

Jose Mourinho has revealed he is learning to speak German in a huge hint about his next managerial position.

The Portuguese was sacked by Manchester United in December and has been outside management ever since, working mainly as a television pundit.

Yet he has regularly stated his desire to return to the dugout, saying previously that he wanted to compete to win titles and suggesting a possible move into international management.

Mourinho's latest revelation suggests that he could manage in the Bundesliga. He has won league titles in the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A and the Primeira Liga so could be keen on a new challenge after a largely disappointing time at Old Trafford.

Mourinho told Gazzetta dello Sport: "I really miss football. I miss the adrenaline, the field, my job. Football is football.

"Right now, I am studying German. Bundesliga? Now, I'm studying German because I miss the language. I speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian. But I do not exclude anything, not even Germany."

Mourinho won the Europa League, League Cup and Community Shield during his two-and-a-half-year spell at United.

He led the Reds to a second-placed Premier League finish in the 2017/18 season but saw his contract terminated last December as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed his successor.
