Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho continues thinly-veiled attack on Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp

Jose Mourinho has continued his thinly-veiled attack on Jurgen Klopp with another unsubtle swipe at the Liverpool manager.

Mourinho has been irked by the praise received by both Klopp and Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino this season.

The Portuguese has constantly felt compelled to defend his managerial style after being sacked by Manchester United in December following a run of poor results and turgid performances.

The transfers that would give Liverpool a perfect summer window - including Coutinho, Zaha and Sessegnon  

Klopp and Pochettino have yet to win silverware since moving to the Premier League, although the former has led Liverpool to three finals with his team currently top of the table.

And while not mentioning either manager by name, Mourinho's intended targets were clear in his latest comments to beIN Sports.

“I won titles everywhere I have been and I cannot run away from my mentality,” he said.

“Some coaches like to sell the idea of a philosophy, but you have to sell the philosophy after you win. If you win nothing, what is the point?

“If your team plays very well, your team wins, so I don't like these contradictions we have in football nowadays.”

Mourinho has been out of management having been dismissed just days after Klopp's philosophy helped Liverpool beat United 3-1 at Anfield in December.
