Ravel Morrison is training with Sheffield United after being given a lifeline by boss Chris Wilder.
Morrison’s six-month contract with Swedish side Osterunds FK ended at the weekend and the free agent has been invited to begin pre-season training with the Blades by Wilder.
Morrison, 26, will join them on their pre-season training trip to Portugal and Wilder says they will assess the former Manchester United trainee before deciding if they will offer him a contract.
“We will talk and see how it goes,” he said. “It could be a good fit for both parties. We will see.”
Morrison was tipped for greatness when he quit Old Trafford to join West Ham in 2012.

But the forward, who represented England at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18 and Under-21 level, never established himself at West Ham and was sent out on loan to Birmingham, QPR and Cardiff .
A Bosman move to Lazio in 2015 also turned sour and former West Ham boss Sam Allardyce claimed he was “a wasted talent”.
Morrison returned to QPR for a second loan spell before spending the 2017-18 campaign with Mexican side Atlas.
He signed a six-month contract with Osterunds in February, but they have decided not to offer him new terms for the second half of their season.

Wilder is also set to make Luke Freeman his first summer signing and United are close to agreeing a fee of around £3.5million plus add-ons for the midfielder.
Wilder believes Freeman can make the step up to the Premier League after scoring eight goals and making six assists last season with Rangers.
He said: “The clubs are pretty close. It should be done, we think. We’re looking at players with a point to prove.”
