David Moyes claims he had the chance to go to Swansea City before he took the hotseat at Sunderland in 2016.
The Scot says he held talks with a number of clubs - including Celtic, West Ham, Aston Villa and Everton - ahead of negotiations with the Black Cats.
Moyes took the reins at the Stadium of Light in the summer of 2016, before being sacked in the May of 2017.
Francesco Guidolin was in charge in SA1 at that time, finishing the 2015-16 campaign strongly, and was handed a two-year extension in the May of that season, despite intense speculation linking Brendan Rodgers with a Liberty Stadium return.
But former Manchester United manager Moyes claims he had the chance to go to Swansea before he was appointed Sunderland boss in the July of 2016.
Moyes was asked on BBC's Sportsround : "It was written, Davey, I don't know if it is true or not, but before you took the Sunderland job, and obviously before you went to West Ham as well, that you had the chance to go to West Ham, Aston Villa and Swansea . Is that true?"
Moyes replied: "Yes - and more. Before I took the Sunderland job, I had also met Celtic and I had also met Everton at around that time as well."
Pushed on links to Celtic, he added: "I don't how close I've been to get it, but I've had conversations with them over the years, something which meant a lot to me.
"But also I had big opportunities to stay in England, and had other opportunities to take other big clubs. I've had lot of opportunities just now to go back to work, most of them have been in the English Championship. If the right jobs come up in the Premiership I'll certainly look at it."
Guidolin was sacked in October 2016 after an indifferent start to the season, and was replaced by Bob Bradley.
