Man City legend Yaya Toure earned a red card for kicking an opponent just 10 seconds into his final game for Qingdao Huanghai in China.
Toure has had a nomadic career since he left City at the end of the 2017/18 season. He initially rejoined Greek side Olympiacos but left after just three months which resulted in speculation he was set to retire from the game.
However, he joined the second division Chinese club Qingdao in July and has gone on to help them earn promotion to the Chinese Super League for the first time in their short history.
The final game of the season against Nantong Zhiyun was marked out for celebrations to honour the achievement but things turned sour early on when Toure was sent off.
With just 10 seconds on the clock, as his side went on an early attack, Toure appeared to kick an opposition player while off the ball. A lengthy consultation with VAR followed and it resulted in Toure being sent off, though he wasn't happy with the decision.
Qingdao would go on to lose the game 2-1 but with results elsewhere going their way they were declared champions.
Toure celebrated the victory on Twitter afterwards and was congratulated by former teammate David Silva, but he will likely now move on from China though he declared he would play until he is 40.
“I think I'll finish in December or January, then go, have another challenge,” Toure told the AFP.
“People are thinking that I'm done, but I'm not done yet."
