Manchester City made a statement at Chelsea with a 1-0 win on Saturday.
Gabriel Jesus scored the only goal of the game after 53 minutes when he got away from Chelsea midfielder Jorginho and got a deflected shot away that evaded Edouard Mendy and nestled into his bottom right-hand corner.
Chelsea are one of City's title rivals this season and they were unbeaten after eight matches of the season until Guardiola's men came to Stamford Bridge.
City have clicked into gear after losing their opening two games of the season, conceding only four times in the last seven matches with 24 goals scored in those games.
Former City defender Nedum Onuoha reckons his old side's victory in London was down to the way Guardiola set his team up.
Chelsea were stifled by City, who restricted Thomas Tuchel's side to no shots on target and only 41 per cent of possession.
It was the first time since the FA Cup final defeat to Leicester City in May that Chelsea had not scored a goal.
“Everything just seemed to fit, tactically I think Pep got it spot on," Onuoha told club media.
“I think he controlled the game at Stamford Bridge which not many teams will do this year and he did that through the players that he put in there and the system he put them in.
“For Chelsea, they could never get into the flow of the game, and even when they took off (N'Golo) Kante to try and go more attacking, I think they got worse because that’s when they got more open and City created more chances.
“For Pep and the team, they’re very well drilled and understood what was required to win that game.
“They went in as an underdog (and) I hope that’s the last time between now and the end of the season. They deserve more credit because they’re a fantastic football team.”
