Former Man City manager reveals the reason why Liverpool may not go the Premier League season unbeaten

Former Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce has revealed the reason why he can’t see Liverpool going the Premier League season unbeaten.

A brace from Roberto Firmino, a penalty from James Milner and an Alexander-Arnold strike ensured a 4-0 win for Jurgen Klopp's side last night, moving them 13 points clear of the Foxes at the top of the Premier League table, with a game in hand.

Speaking after the game, former Arsenal star Thierry Henry felt the Reds would not only end their 30-year wait for a league title, but they could also go the entire campaign unbeaten, just like his old side did during the 2003/04 season.

“The only thing that might stop them doing it is if they win the league and then [Klopp] plays around with the team at the end of the season,” the former England international told talkSPORT when asked about the prospect of Liverpool going the season unbeaten.

“But at this moment in time I don’t see them being stoppable.

“I’ve never seen a team win the ball back in the opposition’s half as much as they did; Leicester couldn’t get out of their own half!

“The work rate from the front five is incredible.”
