Former Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague has Instagram post banned

Former Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague has had an Instragram post banned by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

A complaint was upheld by the ASA after a post on her account about an outfit from online retailer Pretty Little Thing was ruled as being not identifiable as an advert.

The retailer claimed that the post was "organic", but the ASA ruled that the post could not appear in its current form again, according to the BBC.

The post was shared on September 26, 2019, and showed Molly-Mae wearing a Pretty Little Thing coat with the caption: "A/W, I'm ready [brown leaf emoji]"

She also tagged Pretty Little Thing in the post to her account.

Molly-Mae was a finalist on the 2019 series of Love Island and has remained in a relationship with co-star Tommy Fury ever since.

Since leaving the Love Island villa, Molly-Mae has become a brand ambassador for Pretty Little Thing and her contract dictates that she must identify any advertising in her posts.

While the retailer and Ms Hague argued that the post wasn't part of her contractual role and fell outside of their partnership due to her own personal genuine interest, the ASA said that Molly-Mae must include phrases such as "#ad" on posts to make her role as an ambassador for the brand absolutely clear.

Meanwhile, Molly-Mae has been taking to social media to troll boyfriend Tommy for his weight gain since leaving the villa.

In a post while filming a topless Tommy, she wrote: "I'm crying. Look at the belly. and why has a guitar been delivered to the room."
