Former Love Island star Katie Salmon slams public for judging islanders before show even starts

Former Love Islander Katie Salmon has slammed the public for making comments about the islanders - before they've even watched an episode.

Katie, from the Wirral, appeared on the show in 2016 and coupled up with Sophie Gradon, who sadly died last year.

Following the Love Island cast announcement yesterday thousands of people have had their say on the new islanders - with many people having negative things to say about them.

But Katie, 23, hit back on her Instagram stories, telling people to "stop judging people on looks, before you've even got to know them."

Her full post said: "Everyone saying how awful the line-up is and judging people on looks before you even got chance to know anything about these people.

"Then when anything bad happens we say how bad social media is but what you're putting out is defining the whole point.

"Hopefully they all have incredible experiences and have the best summer.

"And I know ITV have announced they have extra help with everything.

"So let's just not judge too deep from a TV show, especially when you haven't even seen an episode yet."

Love Island is set to return to ITV2 on Monday June 3, with the 12 original islanders already announced.

And throughout the next few weeks lots more contestants will be thrown into the mix.

After coming under fire ITV have promised to ensure they have a robust aftercare package - including mandatory counselling for islanders when they leave the villa.
