Former Livingston goalkeeper signs up at Airdrieonians

Former Livingston goalkeeper Reece Murdoch has joined Airdrieonians to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.

The 19-year-old is the third shot-stopper to make Ian Murray's Diamonds squad after former Stranraer goalie Max Currie joined the club in the summer to compete with David Hutton for the No.1 jersey.

And Airdrie's director of football, Stuart Millar said: “Reece has been training with us for the last week or two and working closely with goalkeeping coach Jim Low, who has been very impressed - as we all have.

“Ian has always liked to have three goalkeepers on matchdays, so we’re happy that Reece will come in and give us more quality in the position. “We’re hopeful that he can put pressure on the other two, and it’s good experience for Reece himself, so it’s a signing that ticks all the boxes.”
